Al Furqan Primary School
Al Furqan Primary School Extension
This project entailed alterations to the existing Victorian school building and the construction of 3Nr first floor classrooms above the existing single-story reception/hallway area. The project involved maintaining weather tightness and protection to the single storey building below whilst the first-floor construction was carried out. Specialist scaffolding was constructed to enable the existing flat roof to be opened up whilst maintaining a weather tight envelope of the building below. Additional structural steel work was installed out of school opening hours to ensure a safe environment was maintained for the school staff and children.

- Working in a live school environment
- Restricted delivery times and routes
- Maintaining a weather tight building whilst constructing the extension envelope
- Unknown construction of the existing building meant close liaison with the clients consultants
Conclusion
- The project was been completed within programme and on budget and we have been given glowing reference by both the Architect and the Client.
