Luxury Home, Macclesfield Road, Wilmslow

This project involved the construction of a four-bedroom luxury private home including a basement cinema room and a separate double garage and gymnasium.  Initial works involved differential level piled foundations followed by the construction of the basement rooms followed by brick and block walls. The floors were pre-cast concrete planks with structural steelwork to form the roof structure. The project had various high specification elements such as a polished stainless steel curved and glazed main staircase with a glass floor landing, gymnasium with a sauna, high specification sanitaryware including double whirlpool baths and a cinema room. The house incorporates a rainwater harvesting system that serves the internal w/cs and outdoor taps.

Design and Construction Challenges:

  • Confined site
  • Foundation works involved complex programming and setting out
  • Bespoke elements such as the master staircase, large span conservatory, bespoke fitted furniture a complete audio-visual system all required close co-ordination and design approvals.
  • Programme constraints due to the bespoke nature of some elements of the project

Feedback

  • The clients were very pleased with their new home and the additional efforts by Sandycroft in order to co-ordinate the specialist trades to produce the required standard of product.
