Meadows Respite Centre
We secured this project via competitive tender for Stoke-on-Trent City Council. The project involved the complete renovation and conversion of an existing respite centre in the Berryhill area of Stoke-on-Trent to create a modern facility for the temporary housing of vulnerable individuals. This fantastic facility now has 24 modern bedrooms plus offices, a hairdressing salon, communal rooms, kitchens etc.
The scheme was undertaken in phases to enable the facility to be operated safely whilst construction works progressed. The building was transformed completely both inside and out whilst only the roof remained untouched. We are extremely proud of the results.
Design and Construction Challenges
- Tight phased programme
- Live site with staff, residents and their visitors in site
Conclusion
- Sandycroft have been commended by all concerned for the way we have managed the project especially given the fact that the building was occupied whilst works progressed.
- All stakeholders have been delighted with the attention to detail and quality of the development
- We had a special mention by the Lord Mayor when the facility was officially opened.
