STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY – CADMAN BUILDING
The works comprised of a ‘soft strip’ to the ground and first floor library spaces, followed by some demolitions and alterations, before the installation of new partitions and ceilings.    Electrical and mechanical works, new WC IPS units, new internal doors, bespoke joinery and fitted furniture. Wall and floor finishes, office fixtures, fittings and equipment completed the project. On completion the client added a substantial variation to the contract for the replacement of the flat roof coverings and general repairs to the existing Cadman and Blackstone buildings. Challenges · Working on a live university campus with restricted access through an internal courtyard. · Completing flat roofing works during winter months with Sika materials that could not be applied in low temperatures or during rainfall and subsequent delays this caused. Feedback· The project was well received by the Client and their team and feedback has been very positive. · SPL will be included on future tender lists for further works at the university. |
