Stockport Renal Dialysis Unit
Sandycroft Projects are proud to have been appointed as design and build partner by Fresenius Medical Care Renal Services Limited for the design and build turnkey package of a new state of the art renal dialysis unit in Stockport. The project was highly complex and was designed and constructed to achieve BREEAM Excellent. As such the building is superbly insulated, employs photovoltaic panels, water saving devices and triple glazing among many other ways of improving the environmental credentials of the building. As such we believe that this clinic is the most environmentally sustainable renal dialysis unit in the UK.
Design and Construction Challenges:
- Achieving and retaining BREEAM excellent rating during the design, construction and occupation of the building.
- Additional works and surveys required for compliance with BREEAM excellent rating
- Poor ground conditions not fully identified with pre-construction investigation which required mass poured foundations up to 5m deep when discovered.
- Tight construction programme and site
