Wyrley FC
Wyrley Juniors Football Club Pitches and Clubhouse
This project comprised the construction of new clubhouse for Wyrley Juniors Football Club together with new football pitches. The project was won by Sandycroft via competitive tender and undertaken under a JCT Intermediate Form of Contract. Funding for the scheme was provided by both the club and the Football Foundation.
Design and Construction Challenges:
- Very boggy site
- Several environmental conservation issues
- Railway line to the rear of the building
- Tight programme
- Working adjacent to a live children’s nursery
- Problems with security (overcome with CCTV)
- Poor access
Conclusion:
The project was completed on time and under budget to the highest standards and we have been commended by both the club and the architect for the quality of work on the scheme. Subsequent feedback from the public and end users has been fantastic, Wyrley FC have also provided their own feedback in our testimonial pages.
