The Covid-19 global pandemic, led Sandycroft to close all construction activities on the 27th March. This was not an easy decision to make, but all members of our team felt we should support our Government’s efforts by staying at home and protecting the NHS.
Seven long weeks on, we are BACK and raring to go!
Over the intervening period, an immense amount of work has been undertaken to ensure our staff and those of our sub-contractors, can return to our sites with confidence that their workplace will be as safe as we can possibly make them.
Site specific risk assessments, method statements, site operating procedures and site rules have been prepared, together with the purchase of additional PPE, cleaning products and, in some circumstances, even hiring additional welfare cabins to provide the extra social distancing for our site teams.
There are many people we should thank (apologies to any we leave out):
- To our site operatives, who have supported our need to close the Company and receive their payment through the furlough scheme. We appreciate all you do for us.
- To our sub-contractors, who have worked alongside us in organising our plans to make our sites as safe as possible.
- To our clients, who have been 100% supportive and understanding over the past seven weeks, and who are now allowing us to return to their sites in the full knowledge we will be respecting their safety as well as our own.
- Most of all, to all members of the NHS who have kept so many of us safe and well, and the Key Workers who carried on regardless, providing the essentials to maintain some normality in our daily lives.
THANKS TO YOU ALL
We look forward to showing you the progress we have made on our sites and introducing our exciting new projects over the coming months.
