We have been biting our tongue since the Corona Virus impacted the country, as just before the pandemic hit, we had been excited to announce that Sandycroft had secured a ‘Design and Build’ contract for Stoke City Council and NHS England to construct a brand new Primary Care Centre on Greendock Street, Longton.
Unfortunately for all concerned, we could not have the glamorous ‘Breaking Ground’ ceremony that everyone wanted, and we decided to keep quiet until we knew we could make a concerted effort on site.
Well now is the time!!
We have been back in operation since the end of May and you can see from the pictures below what we have achieved. We have already installed our corporate branded hoarding to the entire site, have set up our Covid-19 compliant welfare cabins and site office and have started with the huge task of levelling the site. We also completed the capping off of the dangerous mine shaft that was found to have been on the site since before the days of Coronation Avenue, and even the old Brick Works that had stood on the site previously.
We are excited at how this new landmark will transform the lives of local people, bringing two separate doctor’s surgeries and a much-needed pharmacy all under one state-of-the-art modern roof!
Look out for our future posts as the project unfolds, and if you happen to be passing, look out for the Sandycroft hoarding. We will be joining forces with St Gregory’s Primary Academy, to add some colourful decoration to the grey panels in the coming months.
