While we at Sandycroft understand the financial problems many companies are continuing to endure at present, together with the hardships still being faced by so many individuals because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are seeing promising signs of the economy starting to get back on it’s feet. Certainly, at Sandycroft we have every reason to believe there may be grounds to start thinking positive and looking forward to a brighter future.
Whilst 80% of Sandycroft employees were placed on the Government’s furlough scheme during lockdown, we are pleased that the endeavours of those in our estimating department who continued to work, are being rewarded. At the end of June we were successful in winning two contracts for clients in two of our areas of expertise, healthcare and education. We are also still in negotiations on several other healthcare and education schemes and are due to start work shortly on an exclusive housing development in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Our recent successes include:
- a ‘fast track’ 10-week refurbishment of a live healthcare facility in Liverpool which is being completed whilst patients and staff remain in-situ.
- an extension of Staffordshire University’s ‘Cadman Building’ in Stoke-on-Trent creating an extended library facility for their Games Development department.
Welcome to Tom Edwards
Not only can we proudly state that all members of our team are back in full employment and off the Government furlough scheme, but also, we are delighted to announce the employment of a new staff member to the Sandycroft family.
Tom Edwards comes to us with a firm grounding in Quantity Surveying, and we feel confident he will be another valuable asset to the Company. Largely office based, Tom will initially work closely with the Contract teams to provide procurement and contractual support and help our Estimating Department with the many tender enquiries we receive.
