Karl Greatrex

Director
Karl is a quantity surveyor by profession and has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry.   Karl has been a director of Sandycroft for over 10 years and is heavily involved with on-site activities and project management.  Karl is incredibly committed to the success of Sandycroft and often works alongside some of the site guys giving projects a vital push where necessary.  Karl’s eye for detail and his innate practicality help us deliver schemes of the highest quality within optimum timeframes.

Richard Whalley

Director
Richard has been a quantity surveyor for over 30 years has been a director of Sandycroft since 2008.  Richard is generally office based involved on contract negotiation, client development, marketing and estimating.  Richard continually strives to provide our clients with the highest levels of customer service possible and believes that developing trust and maintaining customer satisfaction are key to the success of Sandycroft going forward.

Chris Bell

Senior Quantity Surveyor/Chief Estimator
Chris is a QS by profession and is our Chief Estimator.  Chris has been in the industry for over 30 years, originally as a PQS but with the greater part of his career spent working for local construction firms eventually joining Sandycroft in 2009.  Chris has a robust depth of knowledge in all aspects of construction and enjoys working with clients to ascertain to most sensible solutions to technical problems when they arise.

Alex Hailstones

Senior Quantity Surveyor/Head of QC
Alex joined the team back in 2006 and has worked on some of our largest projects during that time.  As well as his role as project QS, Alex also works on tenders and manages our ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations which includes vetting of our quality control procedures and ongoing performance.  Alex is a highly self-motivated and has an attention to detail essential to his role within Sandycroft and our future success.

Dean Giblin

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Dean has been in his current role of Senior Quantity Surveyor for over 10 years having originally joined the company at a junior level back in 2003.  In addition to running projects and working on tender bids, Dean also manages our CHAS, SafeContractor and Constructionline accreditations.  Dean works closely with clients and construction professionals and works hard to maintain the highest levels of customer service.

Philip Pearson

Contracts Manager
Phil joined the Sandycroft family back in 2017 having worked in his current capacity for a variety of companies in Essex for 12 years.  Phil is an ‘old school’ Contracts Manager with a sound and comprehensive construction knowledge having started out as a joiner in the mid-1980s.  Phil works with construction professionals to come up with workable solutions to problems on our sites using a pre-emptive approach to negate delays and push projects on to a successful conclusion. In addition, Phil helps manage our training regime alongside our admin team, always looking for opportunities to upskill our in-house staff so as to provide more opportunities to our workers and clients alike. 

Rob Wynne

Contracts Manager/Health and Safety Advisor
Rob has been in the industry for over 35 years having started out as a joiner working up to his current role as Contracts Manager.  Health and Safety on our sites is a keen interest for Rob who fulfils a vital role within the company as our internal Health and Safety Advisor.  Rob joined as CM with Sandycroft in 2009 and whilst overseeing a number of projects at any one time also carries out health and safety audits on our sites.  Rob is a member of the CIOB and holds numerous construction and health and safety related qualifications including NEBOSH.  Rob also manages the companies training programme assisted by our Admin Team. 

Sarah Abbott

Head of Admin
Sarah has been working for Sandycroft since 2008 and has headed our admin department for the past 8 years.  Sarah is our front-of house with a welcoming and professional attitude.  Sarah manages all of the company’s administrative processes ensuring the smooth running of the office.  Sarah assists the construction teams on a daily basis and works closely with Rob and Alex to ensure that training, quality control and environmental performance are monitored and implemented successfully.  Sarah also manages our subcontractors and suppliers panel ensuring that our supply chain continual meets our stringent qualification criteria.
